I spent my day off at the library. Replied some emails, got harassed by the town freak, and later spent the evening at the night markets. The usual.
Ho passato il mio giorno libero in biblioteca. Ho risposto ad alcune email, ho subito una conversazione con il pazzo di turno e poi ho speso la serata tra le bancarelle del mercato serale. Il solito, insomma.

Today was a regular day at the vineyard. The weather was glorious, even though it could have been warmer in the morning.
Sunday, 27 October - Day #264
Wine Week is officially over!!! To celebrate, Jeff and Josie, two friends of Loretta and Charlie, invited a bunch of people -winemakers of the region- at their café for dinner. Food was excellent and the company was even better!!! Jeff gave me a Tim Winton book (he's a famous Australian novelist), the great and powerful Phillip Shaw was there (he's a really big name in the wine industry of the region and when I shook his hand I wasn't little in awe!), and so many other interesting people!!! And we had dessert!!! after a week of "fasting" from any sweets, that was what I needed! Beautiful!
La Settimana del Vino è ufficialmemente finita!! Per festeggiare, Jeff e Josie, due amici di Charlie e Loretta, hanno invitato a cena nel loro bar un bel gruppo di amici -principalmente, produttoro di vino della regione.
Il cibo è stato eccezionale e la compagnia è stata anche meglio! Jeff mi ha dato da leggere un libro di Tim Winton (un autore australiano molto famoso) e Phillip Shaw era lì, tra gli altri alla tavola (è uno dei pezzi grossissimi nell'industria del vino della regione e quando gli ho stretto la mano è stato con non poco timore reverenziale!) e anche un sacco di altre persone interessanti! E c'è stato il dolce!!! Dopo una settimana a negarmi il dessert, era proprio quello che mi ci voleva. Favoloso!
Monday, 28 October - Day #265
This evening I helped Charlie out in the barrel room. At dinner, we had Charlie's PA over, Leanne. We laughed a lot - might be thanks to the beautiful shiraz we were drinking. Scratch that. It was definitely the shiraz.
Questa sera ho aiutato Charlie nella stanza dei barili. A cena, abbiamo avuto come ospite l'assistente personale di Charlie, Leanne. Abbiamo riso come dei Matti - potrebbe essere stato merito del buonissimo shiraz che abbiamo bevuto. Chi prendo in giro? Definitivamente è stato lo shiraz!
Tuesday, 29 October - Day #266
Today we worked in the gardens: we planted lots of new veggies which unfortunately we won't be here to enjoy. It was very muddy; rain didn't help, but is sure welcome now that the little plants are in the ground.
Oggi abbiamo lavorato negli orti: abbiamo piantato un sacco si nuove verdure per l'orto estivo che purtroppo non avremo il piacere di gustare. La faccenda è stata parecchio fangosa e la pioggia non è stata d'aiuto in quel momento, anche se ora che le pianticine sono nel terreno, è la benvenuta!
Wednesday, 30 October - Day #267
Today we raised the canopy wires, those which had been lowered just before I got to the vineyard. In the Chardonnay block the spurs are already tall enough to do with some support. Amazing how fast Nature works in springtime!
Oggi abbiamo sollevato i cavi per sostenere i tralci; gli stessi cavi che poco prima che io arrivassi a Orange, erano stati abbassati. Nel settore Chardonnay le citi hanno cacciato già così tanto da avere bisogno di supporto. Incredibile quanto velocemente operi la Natura in primavera!!

I ordered the next couple of books in the Game of Thrones saga. Yay!

Ho ordinato altri due libri della saga di Trono di Spade! Yay!
