Day #189

This morning I decided to sunbathe while reading in my backyard. I put on my bikini and shorts and set in the sunlight for a little longer than one hour. 
BIG MISTAKE. 

No, I mean, that was just something I wrote to add a little bit of drama to this entry. 

Truth is, the weather was glorious, the sun was hot and I might have accidentally got a sunburn. 
On my tits. 
Because I'm a genius. 
It's not too bad, though.. just a little bit red and sore. I'm already applying tons of hydrating cream well, who cares if it's a hand cream?! It's Aloe Vera, it's refreshing and it's meant to help re-hydrate the skin.. sounds perfect to me!

Then this afternoon, after a cool shower, I took a nap, because that's just the effect that sunbathing as on me: it wears me out completely. Just before work, I met up with Claire for a coffee as we had both been really busy over the past weekend and needed to catch up.
We expected the restaurant to be packed, as tomorrow is Ekka Day and a public holiday here in Brisbane, but it was nearly dead and Kyle, who was supposed to work alongside with me tonight, got sent off at 7PM. Not that I had a worse fate, by 9PM we had closed the whole thing and I was on my way back home.
Despite it being public holiday, I will be working tomorrow night as well. Hopefully it's going to be a nice evening business-wise... fingers-crossed!

Questa mattina ho deciso di prendere il sole mentre leggevo in giardino. Mi sono messa in bikini e pantaloncini corti e sono rimasta al sole poco più che un'oretta.
GRANDISSIMO ERRORE.

Ahaha No, scherzo! L'ho scritto solo per aggiungere un po' di pepe a questo post.
La verità è che il tempo oggi era meraviglioso, il sole era caldo e io potrei accidentalmente essermi ustionata.
Le tette.
Perché sono un genio.
Non è brutto come sembra però.. solo un po' rosso e dolorante. Sto già mettendo chili e chili di crema idratante oh bè, a chi importa che sia crema per mani?! È all'Aloe Vera, è rinfrescante ed è studiata per re-idratare la pelle.. sembra proprio quello che fa al caso mio! 

Poi questo pomeriggio, dopo una doccia fredda, ho fatto un sonnellino perché questo è proprio l'effetto che mi fa prendere il sole: mi lascia completamente senza energie. Prima di andare al lavoro mi sono trovata con Claire per un caffè visto che entrambe avevamo passato un weekend parecchio impegnativo ai rispettivi lavori e non avevamo avuto tempo di aggiornarci a vicenda.
Ci aspettavamo che il ristorante fosse stato pieno, dato che domani è Ekka Day [Ekka è la fiera dell'agricoltura del Queensland che si tiene ogni anno a Brisbane in agosto. Dura 10 giorni e oltre che ai classici stand dove vendono prodotti, ci sono anche baracconi, parate di animali e attrazioni varie. Ndr] e festa pubblica in Brisbane, invece è stato terribilmente quieto. Kyle che doveva lavorare con me, è stato mandato a casa alle 19. Non che a me sia andata peggio, alle 21 avevamo chiuso la baracca e io ero già incamminata verso casa.
Nonostante sarà festa, io lavorerò anche domani sera. Speriamo si rivelerà migliore di quest'oggi dal punto di vista degli affari... teniamo le dita incrociate!
